Specifications Notification Generators are manufactured to run at 80% of its maximum output when at sea-level and in a neutral climate. Factors such as altitude and temperature can affect the efficiency of your engine therefore, creating less power.
Expert Advice When deciding on generator size, we recommend considering a machine with 20% more delivery than required. This will prevent overloading and prolong the lifetime of the unit.

An electrician is required to conduct a load-test to ensure you can make an informed purchase decision that is based on your needed amperage per phase.

Generators are manufactured to run at 80% of its maximum output when at sea-level and in a neutral climate. Factors such as altitude and temperature can affect the efficiency of your engine therefore, creating less power.

Limitations of use:

Do not use of more than 50% of your generator’s rated load for your “first step load”.
Do not use of more than 75% of your generator’s rated load for your “Running load”.
These limitations are set to account for any spikes or drops in current that naturally occur in the combustion process of fuel powered generators.

Product FAQs

Where will I store this portable generator when I don't need it?

MAC-AFRIC generators are reliable in most conditions, however for backup use we recommend the unit is stored in a dry area away from direct rain. Also, it is advised to have the machine in a well-ventilated area for safety and proper cooling. The ground surface must also be flat.

What can it run in my household or business?

All generators are rated with KVA (1,000-volt amps) this number gives you all the information to estimate what it can supply. To be sure an electrician can do load tests on your electrical grid to see how much power each appliance needs

How can I get it serviced?

All Adendorff Machinery Mart stores do keep service kits for the MAC-AFRIC range of generators. You can purchase such a kit and do the DIY service yourself. Alternatively, you can contact any store to perhaps book it in or have one of our technicians do the service at the store

How long can it run

For new engines we don’t recommend a time longer than 4 hours at 80% load. After 30 hours of service these machines can run up to 8 hours at 80% load. Please bear in mind air temperature & humidity do play a factor.
